The Gheisa

This look involved a lot of team work. Natalie designed and make the outfit, amazing as always. Wai- Har designed and made the hair wig; I was in charge of the make up and Niku, modelling. The four of us spent most of the they day working hard for this Gheisa look before we moved to location, the Japanese Gardens in Kildare. Photography by Agnes Es

Este look lleva un trabajo en equipo digno de mencionar. Natalie diseñó y realizó el Kimono, espectacular, como todas sus creaciones; Wai- Har Healy diseñó el peinado; yo, a cargo del maquillaje, y Niku, la modelo. Las cuatro pasamos parte del día trabajando duro antes de trasladarnos a los jardines japoneses de Kildare. Fotografia por Agnes Es.

Until Sindy came....Sindy was so jealous of Barbie, she was popular and prettier, Barbie had bigger bobbies and Ken´s unconditional love! ..and Sindy decided that she had to ruin her life.

This is the intro for a special effects look. Horrible Sindy will through acid on Barbie´s pretty face, oh...yes, jealousy is a bitch :)

Hasta que llegó Sindy...Sindy no podía aguantar que Barbie fuera más popular, y más guapa. Que tuvieras las tetas más grandes, e incluso el amor incondicional de Ken...así que decidió arruinar su vida. Esta es la intro de un look de efectos especiales. La malvada Sindy arrojó ácido a la bonita cara de Barbie...ay sí, los celos son mortales :)

The witch, maceficent inspired.

My inspiration for this look was "Maleficent", that will be in the cinema next summer. Something to look forward to!

Owl woman, caged beauty- Mujer búho, belleza enjaulada

This project started for me in Natalie´s Kitchen the evening that she showed me the sketches of the dress she had created. I fell in love. Then I thought that for the make up, I would use a latex beak prosthetic, feathers...we talked for hours. A few weeks, maybe months after that evening, we had the photoshoot. Location, an abandoned house in Co Wexford. A great moment when Dave Kavanagh and Steph got involved in the project, and Francesco Fusco filming on the day. The result, judge for yourself :)

Este proyecto empezó para mí en la cocina de Natalie la tarde en que me enseñó el boceto de un vestido que había creado. Me enamoró. Ya empecé a imaginar que podría usar un pico de látex, y plumas...hablamos durante horas. Unas semanas después, o quizás meses, tuvimos la sesión de fotos. El lugar, una casa abandonada en el condado de Wexford. Un momento emocionante, cuando Dave Kavanagh y Steph dijeron que sí al proyecto, y Francesco Fusco a rodar con vídeo. El resultado, juzga tú mism@ :)

Avant garde look- The majestic silver dragon

Their breath can be a powerful cone of cold or a cloud of paralyzing gas; they walk through the clouds, and have the ability to change the weather and reverse gravity.

The eyebrow as the dragon´s breath, texture, coppers, silver and golden tones for this avant garde look.

This is another look I did in the summer in Coolatin House, Co Wicklow. My friend and model for this photoshoot, Emari Williams, is coming back to USA tomorrow  and I will miss her loads...So there we go with some pictures of her with a bollywood/indian look, hope you like them <3

18th century- El siglo XVIII

This is another look from the weekend in the victorian Coolatin House, in Co. Wicklow. 

It is amazing how fashion changes over the centuries... one century before the look I posted recently, that was the 19th century, fashion was more dramatic, and a little bit crazy too. The trend was an extremely pale face, rosy cheeks and red small heart shape lips. At the time, that their resources for make were very limited, they use to use blood for the red colours. They used to pinch themselves on the tip of their finger to colour the cheeks :S

Also, by looking at a woman´s make up, you were able to know if she was single or not, if she would be the right choice for a crazy night or if she was married. They used to paint beauty marks on their faces and depending on their shape and where they were placed, they had different meanings. Handy, eh?

My dear friend Natalie da Costa designed an underwear look for the 18th century and also an outfit...and I do not know which one to pick up for my portfolio because I love them both! She is also modelling for this look. Emari Williams did her hair, and Peter Williams the photography. Hope you like these pictures :)

Este es otro look del fín de semana en la casa victoriana Coolatin, en el condado de Wicklow.

Es increíble cómo cambia la moda con el paso de los siglos...sólo un siglo antes del último look que colgué, que era el S XIX, la moda era mucho más dramática y exagerada, incluso de locura. Lo que se llevaba entonces eran las caras muy pálidas, las mejillas sonrosadas y labios pequeños rojos en forma de corazón. En aquella época no tenían muchos recursos en cuanto a maquillaje, así que era habitual utilizar su propia sangre para darse color. Solían pincharse la yema de los dedos para dar ese color rosado a las mejillas :S

Además, mirando el maquillaje de una mujer, se hacía evidente su estado, si estaba soltera o no, si era la elección adecuada para una noche loca, o si estaba casada. Solían pintarse marcas en negro, tipo lunar, y dependiendo de la forma y del lugar de la cara donde se la colocaban, tenía un significado u otro. Util, supongo, no?

Mi querida amiga Natalie da Costa diseñó la ropa interior para este look del siglo XVIII y también ropa de calle...y no sé con cual quedarme para mi portfolio, me encantan los dos! Natalie es también la modelo de este look. Emari Williams se encargó del peinado, y Peter Williams de la fotografía.
