Have you been shopping for this autumn-winter season? I have decided that I am not going to get any more grey or black clothes this winter…or almost any. I do not know if you do the same, but as soon as the weather gets a bit cold, black and grey garments pour out my wardrobe, and the winter becomes even more grey, if that is possible!
As I was saying, I said “enough” to the colours that have became typical in my winter wardrobe and I have got instead for some other colours, that as far as I have heard, will be the colours in trend for this season, and moreover will bring some brightness to the cold days.
I am going to highlight the mustard from all the trendy colours…I love you, mustard.
The last time I wore something in mustard, as far as I remember, it was a pair of corduroy baggy trousers, that at the time we used to call “balloon trousers”…this was probably in the beginning of the ´80, bless us…If the mustard colour has been in trend since then, I completely missed it.
A few days ago I got a pair of chinos type ankle trousers, and also a pair of wool tights.
If you do not want to risk, you can combine mustard with browns, chocolate, burned orange, dark green, black or navy. But it looks like the cool option is combining mustard with another king colour for the season, the deep teal, which is not a blue or a green, but both of them together, or with purple, turquoise and oranges.
The deep teal , electric blue and navy (so blue in its darkest shades) are replacing the classic black for evening events´ dresses. I decline buying more black clothes, I think I have enough…however I also think that black is always welcome in any winter look (and not only winter), even necessary! It is like camel colour, a classic.
Mustard suits brunettes and dark more than blondies and pale girls. In my case, still with my Benicasim tan on…I just feel like so much at the moment, we will see if I think the same in some weeks…If you are blonde and fair and mustard is just not your cup of tea, there are many other trends for this autumn-winter that might suit you better: apart from the colours already mentioned, also metallic colours are in (silver and gold). You can wear them in your daily looks too, combined with every kind of fabric and colours that will let you bring this typical evening colours to your winter days. Ah…and red…red and oranges, to give us some joy in the coldest days.
The leopard print is still in, but for this season is the snake print that comes in many looks and different colours. And beside all these quite bold options, we can choose also pink...so here we have, colours for every taste and occasion! What about you? Do you already have your favorite for the season?

Habéis ido ya de compras para este otoño-invierno? Yo este año me he propuesto no comprar ni una prenda más en gris o negro…o casi ninguna. No sé vosotras, pero en cuanto llega el frío el negro y el gris invaden mi armario junto con los marrones, y claro, el frío invierno se vuelve más gris, si cabe.
Pues como decía, este año he dicho basta a los colores típicos de mis inviernos y me he lanzado ya a comprar algunas prendas de otoño-invierno en los que, parece ser, serán los colores de la temporada.
Destaco el mostaza de entre todos ellos…te amo, mostaza.
La última vez que tuve algo mostaza, que yo recuerde, fueron unos pantalones de pana, bombachos, que en la época llamábamos globo…debían ser principios de los ’80…si desde entonces el mostaza ha vuelto a causar furor, me lo perdí.
Me he hecho con unos pantalones tipo chinos, tobilleros, y con unos leotardos. El mostaza, para ir sobre seguro, podemos combinarlo con marrones, chocolate, teja, verde oscuro, negro, azul marino. Pero parece ser que lo suyo es combinarlo con otro de los colores de éxito este invierno, el verde azulado, y con morados, turquesa, incluso naranjas.
El verde azulado pisa fuerte junto al azul marino, al azul eléctrico, e incluso dicen que estas tonalidades de azul, junto con el azul petróleo van a sustituir el negro en los vestidos de noche. Yo, aunque reniego de comprar más negro esta temporada, porque voy servida…creo que el negro siempre tiene cabida, y es hasta necesario en invierno! Como el camel, otro clásico.
El mostaza favorece más a las morenas. A mí, que aún me dura el moreno-Benicasim me apetece…de momento, no sé si más adelante pensaré lo mismo. Si eres blanquita y el mostaza no te va, hay otras tendencias esta temporada que pueden apetecerte más: además de los colores que ya he dicho, vuelven los metalizados (oro y plata) combinados con todo tipo de tejidos y colores para poder lucir estos tonos, típicamente nocturnos, en tus looks diarios. Ah, y el rojo…el rojo y los naranjas, para alegrarnos los días fríos.
Sigue en tendencia el estampado de leopardo, pero esta temporada es el de serpiente el que pisa más fuerte. Y junto a todas estas opciones más bien cañeritas, nos dan la del rosa…así que tenemos para todos los gustos! Y tú? Ya tienes tu preferido?
