Opening the Blog

I always wanted to have a blog. That was after I ruled out about being a writer. Who knows me well, heard me many times as I grew up that I would be a writer. Well...I am now grow up, so all I can say now is that in my next life I would like...

To be a writer you need something special, something that you are born with.

For being a writer you have to be an artist, or a bohemian, or both of them.
In the lack of this, I would have loved to have a great voice, an important one, like Mina's, the italian singer that nowadays is living in Brescia. She is the voice of the voices, and how many times I have thought how cool it must be singing in the shower and having the shower screen trembling for the pleasure!
My dad used to play Mina's music in the car...that was ages ago, when the whole family used to go to Sarrion, a small village in the Spanish mountains, every year in August. At the time the trip used to last for ages, that was before they made the great road that has brought the beach closer to the mountains.

Thanks to Mina and her songs I fell in love with the Italian language, and learnt it. Thanks to her I fell in love also with the country, and Italy has a place in my heart since, and some Italians too. I spent beautiful times there, and some not so beautiful, ha! the fame Italian men have is sometimes deserved! only sometimes.
When I used to travel so much with work, my mum used to tell me that I should write a book with my experiences in other countries, when you travel the world on your own you get to have loads of stories to talk about! Maybe I should have written them down, before time and a selective memory cancel them from my mind.
My mum had also another idea about what I should write about, but let us leave this without paying attention...there are some things we are happy to have forgotten!

Anyway, as I said a few days ago in a previous post, and we all know, we live for today. We have to make the best of the present, try to do what makes us happy as much as we can, have some goals, dreams, and be happy. My dream, my big huge dream was having a child, My Abbey, the little girl of my eyes. I was so lucky when I met the man of my dreams, and mum, this time it is true ha! And here is Abbey now, my Dublin princess with gipsy eyes and the soul of a dancer.
Another dream I had was doing make up, and here I am.
About visiting NYC, this will have to wait until Abbey grows a bit, but here note for my husband: NYC...mmm...I would be so happy if... hope he got it.
Recently I thought that, even though I was not born a writer, I do not have that something special to do so, nobody stops me to do so, is that right?
A blog is cool. Because it is quite intimate, at least before you press the button to publish the post in facebook ha! But here while I am writing, with the leopard print on the bottom, my blog is personal, and lets me to write about whatever I feel like. I have heard that you get hooked on this freedom.
Now that I live so far away from my home town, well, it is already 3 years since I moved to Ireland, and I am far away from my people, thanks to facebook we are in touch daily. But I have a friend that is not in facebook, a good friend of mine that does not want to be into it at all.
Patri, this blog is dedicated to you, for this reason I have thought that I will not only post about make up, diets, fashion and beauty in general. It will be a bit more personal...we will see how we make it work. So now this blog is officialy opened, apart from the make up entries and the draw for a free photoshot.
And for so I am posting a picture of Abbey this morning. This week in the creche they are having a multicultural week. We parents were asked to bring something typical Spanish.
After going crazy trying to find a flamenco dress for Abbey in Dublin, and panicking because I could not find one, I had to turn to a plan B.
I dressed her with a flounced  red dress that I bought in Next, a red flower from Claire's in her hair, a pair of red tights with small white hearts (lacking of dots) from mothercare, and a cudly bull that my mother in law gave to her.
She brought also some pictures in her bag: some of them of Benicasim beach, our familiar paradise waiting for our holiday in August! a pic with a paella, very typical from Valencia, and another one with loads of people dressed in red and celebrating the Spanish team's victory in the world cup! My Abbey was this morning more Spanish than ever before!
