Thursday Tip - El consejo del jueves

SUMMER VERSUS WINTER

Hi ladies, here some tips for the cold winter months...it is getting close!

Regarding foundation, during the summer (in Ireland feels so far away!) we tend to use a lighter formula, the sunshine naturally even skin tone, and we feel good even with very little make up on. We can mix foundation with moisturiser to make it more sheer or using an oil-free formula if your skin gets shiny in warm weather. However to combat dryness in winter, I recommend to use a creamy formula, and always use moisturiser underneath.
For the Blusher, a powder blusher will help control shine by absorbing excess oils during the summer, but in winter you might prefer a cream-based blusher as it is more hydrating and will keep your skin moisturised for longer.
Take care of your lips during the cold winter. Tinted lips and balms are a good option for the winter time, as they provide hydration as well as colour. Choose lipstick in a moisture rich formula. Something good about the winter, the lip gloss stays put for longer! In summer we tended to go more for matt lipsticks and stains, the gloss did not last on too long, and we had to make sure to use products with sunscreen.
For the eyeshadow, you can use in winter cream eye shadow that would crease easily during the hot months. In summer we resort to the loose powder to set and control the oils before applying the eyeshadows. In winter do not forget to use an eye cream to stop the thinner skin around your eyes to become dry.
About mascara…waterproof mascara works well in warm weather as the normal ones smudges, and we can use also a clear mascara for the summer. In winter we tend to use darker tones, so black mascara is usually the choice. I still prefer to use it waterproof for the tears in the windy days.
I hope this is useful and I hope that winter will not be too long!!
