Hi girlies, hi everyone,

It is some days already that I had in mind this post, but lately I am busy, what can I say? I am happily busy and wishing that the days were 35 hours long instead of 24.

Some days ago I had a free morning to spend with my daughter and it was raining. What can you do if it rains? I suppose that for someone that grown up in Ireland the rain is not a big deal, but I am Spanish, and I would say that regarding the weather, even more. However Abbey, my daughter, does not mind the rain, she just loves being outdoors, the walks, the people, the craic. She love the mini nap in the car, the musicians in Grafton Street, the cupcakes in Powerscourt, and being out and about. I had in mind to get some make up products, so we went to Brown Thomas first (BT). BT is a visit not to miss when being in town, and I love to get lost in the different make up counters. However this time I went straight away to Nars, as I needed so badly the "orgasm" blush. And not for such an inspiring name, but because I read great reviews about this blusher and could not let it pass  once I was there. I have to say that the customer service in Brown Thomas is just something else... I know that everybody has different experiences, but I can only say that every time I go to BT is such an enjoyable experience. BT is luxury, they intend to sell luxury, glamour and exclusivity, and that has a price, of course, so deserves the best customer service. After I left with my few bits and pieces and a big smile on my face, I wanted to test the products straight away but I managed to resist.  

We went then to Make Up Forever (MUF).  I do not go to town that often...and that is the perfect excuse, and moreover Abbey was happy and quiet, and the rain had stopped for a little while!

There is something that I hate about MUF...they never have in stock the color foundations I need, it is the 3rd time that it happens to me in the last few months, and yes, they give you samples without even having to ask for them but...they are always short of stock. Also, some of the sales assistants that I am sure they are also make up artists do not really know much about the products if you want to know something in particular. Anyway, the primers are nice and once I was there I bought the green one and the white. I also bought some beautiful lipsticks and glosses (always keeping in mind the brides...they are my excuse in the summer months especially).

After the shop and an improvised bottle during the walk, we went to eat something to Powerscourt. I like the light in this place, the roof is so tall and with glass, so even in a dark day you get some light and the feeling of being almost outdoors. Abbey loves the cupcakes and I am absolutely fascinated by the feather lamps...

It was funny that I was asked by the staff: Are you having lunch on your own? I suppose that they meant A table for one (+space for a pram)? I just smiled, but thought for myself: No, I am not having lunch on my own for a change, I am with my best friend! It probably sounds silly, but we have a ball together. I cannot wait for her to be talking and yes, I know I have to enjoy every step of the way but God! when is she going to talk? cannot wait!!!

Anyway, coming back to the make up shopping...I have been trying the products lately and I am extremely happy with the Nars foundations. The one for combination-oily skin lasts all day, it has a mat finish, and even though it is quite light, you can build the coverage and it looks really good. The foundation for normal-dry skin is so beautiful, it has a natural glow that makes it so special. I tried this foundation on the bride who is getting married next week, she looked just amazing. I really cannot wait for the wedding morning, and it is getting close!

I have to say that I like orgasm, it is a peachy pink blush with some gold shimmer, very beautiful, but I cannot avoid thinking about colorista from Benefit, they are not exactly the same, but have lots in common. 

I have been using also the MUF primers which are great, but they were not new for me. Anyway, I would recommend them. As I was saying a few days ago in another post, if you have redness on your skin go for the green primer, it neutralizes the red and you will see the difference. Do not worry about the green, it does not look like green once applied. The reason why it neutralizes the red is because the two colors, red & green are opposed in the colour wheel. 

I know I called this post Shopping, cupcakes, rain and projects...If you are wondering which are the projects...I have a few of them at the moment. Projects or goals, we can call them as we prefer, but in the end is what keeps us moving and happy. Some products testing ( I cannot wait to be able to tell you about my last discovering, but I am still testing them!), next wedding, this is so exciting... Yes, I know that my excitement cannot be compared to the one of the bride, but girls, I am excited! I have a couple things going on that I hope I will be able to tell you soon, if they are finally worth it. My head is starting to dream about the holidays from time to time, I need some heat and some time with my family (my own small family and my big spanish one!) but that is only a dream now...we still have 4 plenty weeks to enjoy before that...hopefully the rain will stop, and next time we might be going to the swings in the park.

Hola chicas, y chicos,

Hace días que tenía en mente escribir este post, pero últimamente estoy muy liada, qué puedo decir? Estoy felizmente liada, y deseando que los días tuvieran 35 horas en lugar de 24.

Hace algunos días, con la mañana libre y en compañía de mi nena, se puso a llover. Qué se puede hacer si llueve? Supongo que para alguien que ha crecido en Irlanda la lluvia no tiene importancia, pero yo soy española, e incluso diría que muy española en lo que al clima se refiere. Sin embargo a Abbey, mi hija, la lluvia le da igual. Le encanta el aire libre, los paseos, la gente, el jaleo. Le encanta la mini siesta en el coche en marcha, los músicos callejeros de Grafton, las cupcakes (las traduciría como magdalenas?) de Powerscourt, estar por ahí de parranda, vaya.

Yo quería hacerme con algunos productos de maquillaje, así que fuimos a Brown Thomas (BT) primero. BT es visita obligatoria cuando se va al centro, a mí me encanta perderme en cada stand de maquillaje…Sin embargo esta vez fuimos directas al de Nars. Necesitaba urgentemente hacerme con el colorete “orgasmo”, y no por su nombre tan inspirador, sino por las críticas tan buenísimas que he leído, así que no podía dejarlo pasar una vez allí. Tengo que decir que el trato al cliente en BT es algo fuera de lo normal…ya sé que cada uno tiene sus propias experiencias y opiniones, pero yo tengo que decir que cada vez que voy a BT es una experiencia inolvidable. BT es lujo, eso es lo que intentan vender, lujo, glamour y exclusividad, y vale, eso tiene un precio, por su puesto, pero corresponden con la mejor de las atenciones también. Cuando ya nos fuimos con nuestras compritas y yo, reconozco, con una gran sonrisa por el buen ratito, tuve que contenerme para no abrir todos los productos y probarlos! Me entusiasmo…pero conseguí aguantar hasta llegar a casa. Nos fuimos entonces a Make Up Forever (MUF). Yo no voy al centro muy a menudo…y esa es la excusa perfecta, y encima Abbey estaba contenta, disfrutando y calmadita, y la lluvia nos había dado una pequeña tregua!

Hay algo que me da mucha rabia de MUF…y es que nunca tienen en stock el color de base de maquillaje que busco, me ha pasado ya 3 veces en los últimos meses, y sí, te llenan de muestras sin ni siquiera tener que pedirlas, pero siempre hacen corto de stock. Además, los dependientes, que estoy segura de que son maquilladores profesionales también, no tienen mucha idea sobre los productos en cuanto les preguntas algo en concreto. El caso, a lo que vamos, las prebases de MUF están muy bien, así que una vez allí compré la verde y la transparente. También compré algunos pintalabios y brillo de labios (siempre con mis novias en mente –novias a las que maquillo, se entiende...ellas son mi excusa, especialmente en verano, época de bodas).

Tras las compras y un biberón improvisado de camino, fuimos a comer algo a Powerscourt. Me encanta la luz de este sitio, el techo es altísimo y todo de cristal, de manera que hasta un día gris tiene su luz y esa sensación de estar, casi, al aire libre.

A Abbey le encantan sus cupcakes y a mí las lámparas de plumas, que me tienen totalmente fascinada…

Estuvo gracioso que me preguntaron, cuando llegamos: Va a comer usted sola? Supongo que se referían a si necesitaba una mesa para una persona (+ espacio para el carrito). Y bueno, sonreí y asintí, pero pensé para mí misma: No, no como sola, para variar. Como con mi mejor amiga! Y seguro que suena tonto, pero nos lo pasamos bomba juntas. Tengo unas ganas tremendas de que Abbey hable, y lo sé, tengo que disfrutar de cada momento, pero aún así, qué ganas tengo, por dios!!

Volviendo a las compras de maquillaje…he estado probando estos productos que compré, y estoy encantada con las bases de maquillaje de Nars. La que es para pieles mixtas o grasas dura todo el día, tiene un acabado mate, y aunque es bastante ligera, se puede trabajar para hacerla más cubriente, y el acabado perfecto. La base de maquillaje para pieles normales-secas queda preciosa, tiene un brillito natural que la hace especial. Esta precisamente la probé con la novia a la que voy a maquillar dentro de poco, y le quedó espectacular.

Qué ganas tengo de que llegue la mañana de la boda, ya falta menos!

Tengo que decir que me gustó “orgasmo”, es un rosa con tonos melocotón y un brillito dorado que me recuerda mucho al Colorista de Benefit, no son exactamente iguales, pero muy parecidos.

He estado usando también las prebases de MUF, que son muy buenas, pero no son nuevas para mí, ya las conocía, y las recomiendo. Como comenté hace algunos días en otro post, si tienes problemas de rojeces prueba a utilizar la prebase verde, neutraliza las rojeces y notarás la diferencia. No te preocupes aunque la veas tan verde, no queda verde una vez aplicada. La razón por la que neutraliza las rojeces es porque el verde es el color opuesto al rojo en la rueda de colores, y lo neutraliza.

He titulado este post Compras, cupcakes, lluvia y proyectos…Por si te preguntas cuáles son los proyectos…pues tengo varios entre manos de momento. Proyectos o metas, llamémoslos como queramos, pero al final, lo importante, es que nos mantengan activos y felices. Estoy probando unos productos nuevos, todavía no puedo comentar porque necesito unos días más, pero tengo unas ganas tremendas, porque de momento son un gran descubrimiento), la próxima boda, es muy emocionante…Sí, ya sé que mi emoción no es comparable a la de la novia, por supuesto, pero qué lo voy a hacer, yo me emociono también! Tengo un par de cosillas entre manos que espero salgan bien y pueda comentar pronto también.  Y por último, mi cabeza se me va ya de vez en cuando  y me encuentro soñando con las vacaciones, necesito calorcito y necesito tiempo con mi familia (con mi propia pequeña familia, y con la grande, la española!) pero de momento sólo es un sueño…aún quedas 4 semanas llenas de cosas que disfrutar antes de eso…esperemos que deje de llover, y así la próxima vez podemos acercarnos a los columpios del parque.
